Needed a couple of days to be able to read this. Very disappointing, but I don’t think this is the same old NT. I think the Wazzu game, Army, even Western Michigan showed that. The big test is how do they bounce back this week. Can they come out and beat a rival after a hard loss? I still believe in this team. Bring on UTSA. Hopefully a decent crowd shows up as well. Gonna be tough at 2:30 after a blowout, but here’s to hoping
I am impressed by your ability to stay mostly rational and objective about these things. I’m only just now coming down off my “same old UNT, Morris is no different from Littrell, always gonna crap the bed when it counts” mad that I’ve been on since about halfway through the third quarter last night.
Here’s hoping the boys take out some of their frustration on the roadkill on Saturday
Late to the post-loss "party" (stich-and-b*tch), due to coming back from a five-day trip up north to Wellsboro and Wilkes-Barre, PA. Saw the game at the hotel room and, yeah, it hurts, but is nothing am not hardened to and will still beat the drum!
Winning the turnover battle is like....96-98% of the battle (there was some super weird stat, IIRC, that the NFL or ESPN put out, several years ago, in the past decade, of how many teams went on to win a game after some exorbitant amount of turnovers, and it was like finding a needle-in-a-haystack of games where a team won the game despite losing the turnover battle, at least to some high number). Getting points on those turnovers is CRUCIAL and is a key indicator of what "separates the men from the boys", as it were.
Various podcasts and analysts have their "catch-phrases", and one of them is "good teams win, but great teams COVER", and USF reverse-covered (was able to see UNT still favored at a betting kiosk of one particular sportsbook, despite reports of the line moving to USF's favor overtime).
Wrote very similar, if not exact, thoughts on The Solid Verbal's Patreon. Yes, the Playoffs/Natty might be out for the year, but The American Championship Game is NOT out of the realm of possibility, nor PROBABILITY, and this fan would welcome a rematch with open-arms!
At least three key players for USF DID go down to injury during the game, however, and is worth monitoring over the coming days and weeks (if anyone can do such sleuthing on other boards), such as their star WR and a defensive stand-out.
If UNT catches USF in a Title Game rematch with their best players on-the-shelf, or not 100%, then the game will be a lot closer than this one shouldn't have been, IMHO. Even in a loss in that, and winning-out elsewhere en route to that hypothetical game, UNT is still slated for a good semi-elite bowl game (and hopefully, win)! That's still a win in this user's book, the past two years considered!
Thanks, and I *normally* try to have one out immediately after the game but the recent game times and weird circumstances have meant I had to do it differently.

GMG!
Enjoyed this 1 Adam, and especially the way you got this out really quickly.
