MGN Morning Report: 11.5.25
Links and things
The CFP rankings were released on Tuesday night, with no G5/G6 programs in the top-25. There are some controversial inclusions (Tennessee?) but given the extreme focus on money in the college football landscape, the reality is that we shouldn’t expect much G5 inclusion in these things. The big programs do not schedule G5 programs (and have policies wherein they are trying to do so even less) and then punish G5 programs for the perceived weakness of their schedule. It is what it is.

AP 25 was released Sunday, and NT received votes.
North Texas General Manager Raj Murti getting some shine in the NY Times/Athletic
Murti, now 24, took that opportunity and ran with it, spending five years on the recruiting and personnel staff at Houston (including two as an undergraduate student). From there, Murti spent a year at TCU as a recruiting coordinator and assistant player personnel director on Sonny Dykes’ staff before landing at North Texas, where the Mean Green are 8-1 and have the best chance to earn the Group of 5’s College Football Playoff berth, according to The Athletic’s projections.
Drew Mestemaker was on the Rich Eisen show.
