UNT Athletics Receives $4.6 Million Gift from Tom and Kristy Weger Family
DENTON – North Texas Athletics has received a transformational $4.6 million gift from Tom and Kristy Weger, of Coppell Construction Company, marking the largest philanthropic contribution in UNT Athletics history.
The Wegers’ historic gift will support the completion of the expansion of the UNT Athletic Center and establish the Weger Family Strength and Conditioning Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance the development, performance, and wellbeing of Mean Green student-athletes across all sports.
“At UNT, we are committed to providing a transformational education that unlocks our students’ full potential,” UNT President Harrison Keller said. “This generous gift from the Weger family will help take Mean Green athletics to the next level of competition and student support in pursuit of excellence, and we are very grateful for their gift.”
The Weger family has been longtime supporters of North Texas Athletics and the university community. Both Tom (Class of ’89) and Kristy (Class of ’90) are UNT Alumni. Their passion for building and their deep ties to the region have made them champions of growth and opportunity in Denton and beyond. …
