2026 Recruiting Class
Transitionary Period
UPDATE: 12.2.25 7:46pm — as expected, it was not great for North Texas. Eric Morris flipped his commits from NT to OSU early. As expected, Thorton, Farsee, Evans, Brown, Vehrs, and Wier all committed to Oklahoma State this morning. It was quick. AD Jared Mosley mentioned that it was expected, and the plan was that the new coach would build and aim for the portal.
It’s (early) National Signing Day.
The calendar is crazy, and coaches and staffs are moving all over the place. Existing staffs and new ones are vying for players all over — even the ones that are hard commits. Some offers are being pulled. Morris said this week, “I recognize that some guys were getting ready to sign at North Texas thinking I was going to be there.”
It’s a wide open time. “Not ideal is an understatement,” added Morris.
The out-going staff did well to build from the high school ranks. Landon Sides, Mestemakers, Wyatt Young, Caleb Hawkins, and others are (extremely) valuable members of the team. You can build via the HS ranks — especially as everyone is looking portal-first seemingly.
Again, here are the guys listed as ‘committed’ according to the major recruiting services that we expect or were expecting until Eric Morris accepted the job at Okie State, and Neal Brown took over yesterday:

He flipped to Texas State.
I expect changes. Eric Morris had installed his GM in Oklahoma State for a week or so. Neal Brown was officially announced on the 2nd, and a front office staff is yet to be defined. I’m sure all of these conversations were being had at the moment.
On the Monday press conference with Jon Sumrall, he mentioned how he had talked with both the Tulane class and Florida class to try keep them where they were headed. Morris has already pulled commits from some Oklahoma State guys, while Louisiana Tech’s Sonny Cumbie mentioned this week that he was looking to re-open recruiting for guys he “finished second on.”
Throughout the day, MGN will update this post, the comments section, and for subscribers — the forum.
