It's Cold Out Here

We had something like 10 inches of snow in a couple of days. I had no car, as my car was in the shop for routine maintenance when the auxiliary battery went out and caused the car to not be able to reverse. We learned this as they were calling us to get the car. This would not have been much of a deal except for the fact that we were snowed in.

It was not a huge deal, as we hadn’t planned to go anywhere in this. The midwest is better than Texas at this type of deal, but it still takes time to remove snow, prepare the roads, and no matter where you are in this world, some people simply cannot drive in any weather. So you get accidents and mistakes. Complicating things is that sometimes your neighborhood doesn’t have the most traffic so the roads aren’t as cleared as some others. Maybe the snow plow came through and now your car is buried. It happens.

MGN HQ was fine. We made a small snowman. The real issue wasn’t the snow, it was the cold. The temps said it felt like -18° on a single-digit day. So the kids were home but couldn’t really go outside to play in the snow until day three or four.

You get tired of wearing three layers. You are cold and yet hot at the same time. Letting the dogs out and helping them stay alive lets some of the cold air in. Now the kitchen is freezing but you are hungry. Maybe you grab a bag of chips instead of making a sandwich. Choices are made.

In Denton, the portal window closed. The signings were made. Something like 52 new players and roster participants were announced. Sometime soon, MGN will go through this list and project and analyze and make grand proclamations. For now, it is enough to simply get another tea. It is cold out here.
