By the way this picture is from NT vs Cal at Berkeley. Cal just fired Justin Wilcox -- a good defensive mind hired after Sonny Dykes left, with his all-offense, all the time approach. Wilcox was meant to be a balance.

In 9 years they never did much of anything, and his time is over. I always felt North Texas missed some big opportunities in losing to Cal both times. Great place to watch football.

Agreed with the JMU comment. Also I hate that the CFP is basically going to cost us hosting the AC title game

I haven’t engaged with any, but it’s soooo bad. The mind bending logic is nuts

So much mental gymnastics. Cherry picking which stats fit their narrative. Picking and choosing which games matter and which ones don’t. It’s mind numbing.

"you got to understand that the only reason North Texas won is [NT defense kicked ass] and so therefore it doesn't count!"

“But if you played the game now, UNT would only be favored by 10 or so points!”

Oh you mean we’d be favored by MORE than we were favored back in Week 3? Sounds good.

is it weird that i feel strongly that we are the superior team for Friday's game and that the only thing that makes me nervous is our previous performance in a Friday night game?

I think it’s not weird that you feel strongly that we are good. I will remind you that we played well vs Charlotte on Friday

A friend texted me the Jason Garrett rumor and that’s worth breaking my overall avoidance of message boards and fan commentary between now and Friday (for this group at least)

So I keep my own internal rating system on UNT's QB's and Meste's performance on Saturday was the highest rated game in the last ten years (as far back as I go). The scoring system goes from -44 to 150 and Meste finished at 97. The previous high was 83 by Chandler Morris against South Alabama.

Yeah he doesn’t throw bad balls. He reads the game well. He is improving with his deep shots and developing rapport with his WRs.

I think he’s weakest facing pressure (who isn’t) and we haven’t played a really lights-out pass defense thus far.

Thanks Adam. I thought about you this week, post-victory. We are in such uncharted waters, I am out of words to describe the elation of pulling for a flat out high level contender. I will say this. I so greatly enjoy pulling for guys, not heroes, but guys playing heroically. It will be easy to remember this season. GMG

Yes, no matter what. Got to ten wins — I have said on the show that I’m okay with not making the playoff simply because that means a bowl game is a possibility. That’s a streak that needs to end and it would be great to end on a win.

That said, I’d prefer the league title (trophies!) and I don’t care about a bowl streak.

Who will be coaching UNT next season?

I wonder if they offer Cassity but the Baylor rumors about Jared M make that seem interesting.

Baylor is in some financial troubles and facing some internal turmoil. Not sure Jared wants to hitch his wagon to a P4 with limited money and a president who might be ousted.

maybe I’m way off base but announcing your departure before season’s end is bush league. I’m finding it almost impossible to stay positive in any capacity for the rest of this season and beyond. hopefully this is just my broken heart venting.

it was announced because of leaks and rumors. He didn't say anything.

You are correct it is bush league. Oklahoma State wanted to make it known sooner rather than later and Morris was okay with it. He always came across as a guy who was wanting to get out of Denton as soon as possible. He felt no sense of loyalty or gratitude towards the university. I knew the boosters had no chance to change his mind.
